Double Fiber DWDM mux (passive filters) product line is part of our xWDM product line uses up to C-Band (Common Band) optical channel plan as defined by ITU-T G.694.1.
It allows organize up to 40 parallel and independent data streams over pair of single-mode optical fibers if using 100 GHz channel spacing, or up to 80 data streams, if using 50 GHz channel spacing.
As DWDM channel plan partly overlaps with passband of CWDM channels 1531 nm and 1551nm, it’s also possible to form Hybrid-WDM solution and upgrade existing passive CWDM connections, where capacity reached maximum.
xWDM technology remains as todays prevailing technology for extending black fiber capacity. Main advantages of xWDM technology are its passive nature – no power supply or cooling necessary, robustness – no special microclimate requirements and as passive element, it has MTBF 100+ Years.
xWDM – it is fully data rate or line protocol neutral – it is possible to use with colored transceivers supporting such applications as 1G/10G Ethernet, SDH/SONET and 8/4/2/1G Fiber Channel. It is simple to install, requires no configuration or maintenance.
