Answer: As long as both devices recognize the SFP modules installed, i.e. sending/receiving light, then connectivity will work between the two using Ethernet standards.

Answer：SFP gives you flexibility. You could use copper in one port and fiber in another. You will however pay for this flexibility--transceivers that go in SFP slots can sometimes cost more than you paid for the device.
So if you expect that you will only use copper cable with RJ-45 connector, save yourself some money and don't get a device that takes SFPs.
