General Description
The module converts 4 input channels of 25Gb/s electrical data to 4 channels of LAN WDM optical signals and then multiplexes them into a single channel for 100Gb/s optical transmission. Reversely on the receiver side, the module de-multiplexes a 100Gb/s optical input into 4 channels of LAN WDM optical signals and then converts them to 4 output channels of electrical data.

FAQ
1. Question: Please, what is the product warranty? Thank You.
Answer: All Fiber Optic Transceivers share 3-year standard warranty.
2. Question: Will this work with 1g (not 10g) sfp ports in Cisco switches?
Answer: Yes. As long as the rate of both ends are consistent.
3. Question: Which would I choose, SFP+ or 10GBase-T?Why?
Answer: A SFP+ is the optical SFP for 10G connectivity and a 10G Base-T is the standard developed to support 10G copper based ports.
Although no one really uses the 10G copper as it can only travel very short distances
I would recommend to use a SFP+ port instead of a plain copper port for especially 10G connection. If its 1GE or FE continue to use copper since it widely deployed. SFP+ is the most cost effective, dedicated fiber is the best for air flow in the DC, RJ45 is cheap but bulky.
4. Question: What are CWDM, DWDM, SFP and GBIC used for? What kind of company buys them?
Answer: First, CWDM (Coarse wavelength division multiplexing) and DWDM (Dense wavelength division multiplexing) are 2 kinds of technology, compared with single wavelength technology. They are used in optical network because it saves cost.
SFP and GBIC are transceiver modules. They are used to connect switches and cables. There are slots on the switches. SFP can be inserted and removed according to different demand.
