Classification

MPO optical fiber jumper can be divided into transition type and non transition type. There are various types of MPO jumper, including ribbon MPO jumper and bundle MPO jumper. What is the polarity of MPO products?

This matching between the sender (TX) and the receiver (Rx) at both ends of the fiber link is called polarity.

There are four kinds of polarity of MPO products

The arrangement position of fiber cores at both ends of type a MPO jumper is the same, corresponding one by one. One end positioning key is upward and one end locating key is downward.

If the fiber cores at both ends of B-type MPO jumper are arranged in opposite positions, the fiber core 1 at the jumping end corresponds to position 12 at the other end. Both ends of the positioning key direction is the same.

The positions of a pair of adjacent cores of C-type MPO jumpers are crossed, one end of the core 1 is on the other end of the core 2. One end of the positioning key is up and the other end of the positioning key is downward.

The principle of MPO connection is as follows: it must be connected with the same number of connectors (12 cores connected with 12 cores, 24 cores connected with 24 cores, etc.); one male and one female head are a pair of connections; the connection must be of the same polishing type (PC and PC, APC and APC).

The polarity of MPO connector is managed by key. Two kinds of keys are defined: key up and key down. A pair of MPO connectors are matched by an MPO adapter. There are two types of MPO adapters: Class A is defined as key up / key down, and class B is defined as key up / key up. Fiber polarity can be managed by selecting a Class A or class B adapter.
