Matters needing attention
The receiving and transmitting wavelengths of the optical modules at both ends of the optical fiber jumper must be the same, that is to say, the two ends of the optical fiber must be the same wavelength optical modules. The simple distinction method is that the color of the optical modules must be the same. Do not bend or circle the optical fiber excessively in use, which will increase the attenuation of light in the transmission process.
Difference between multimode fiber jumper and singlemode fiber jumper
1. Cable color
Generally speaking, single-mode jumpers are mostly yellow, and multi-mode jumpers are mostly orange.
2. Optical cable printing;
The single-mode jumper is printed with "SM" or "g652", "G655", "g657", "9 / 125", and the multi-mode jumper is printed with "mm" or "OM3", "50 / 125", "62.5/125".
3. Connector color
The color of single-mode jumper connector is generally blue or green, and the color of multi-mode jumper connector is generally gray white.
4. Core of jumper
The core in the middle of single-mode jumper is very small (9um), and the core in the middle of multi-mode jumper is very large (50um or 62.5um), which is about half the size of black buffer layer.
5. Transmission distance
The transmission distance of single-mode fiber jumper is longer than that of multimode fiber jumper, and multimode fiber jumper is faster for short-distance transmission.
