5G has a capacity 1,000 times that of 4G and can peak at 10gbps-20gbps, meaning low-latency, high-speed data transmission. But its more important function is to realize the communication between people and things, and between things and things, to realize the interconnection of everything.

5G has a wide range of applications. Combined with the uav industry, it can enable the uav network to independently fly beyond visual range, be intelligent, establish an integrated network of air, space and earth, and realize vertical application in multiple industries.

In the development of unmanned driving, 5G provides an irreplaceable role. The information collected by sensors and cameras during driving needs to interact with the cloud through communication means. The low delay characteristic of 5G can bring good experience.

In driving, the data volume of high-precision map is huge, reaching Gbit/km level or above, updating is completed in as little time as possible, and ultra-high-speed bandwidth is required. 5G can also meet transmission needs. 5G is an end-to-end ecosystem that will build a fully mobile and fully connected society.

5G has its drawbacks. Increased 5G bandwidth means less coverage; The frequency point is too high, the signal penetration is poor, the coverage radius of the base station is generally about 100-300 meters, which requires the construction of more base stations to achieve range coverage, and the power required by 5G network is significantly increased compared with 4G, and the base station construction cost is also rising.

At present, 5G technology is in a leading position in China, 5G opens the commercial mode, and the construction of infrastructure is also gradually promoted.
