MPO is one of MT series connectors. Due to its compact design, MPO has many cores and small size. It is widely used in the connection of FTTx, 40 / 100g SFP and SFP + in the environment of high-density integrated optical fiber line in the wiring process. MPO products mainly include MPO optical fiber jumper, MPO fiber adapter, MPO parts, MPO plug-in core, MPO distribution box, MPO connector, MPO optical cable, etc.
1. What is the polarity of MPO products?
This matching between the sender (TX) and the receiver (Rx) at both ends of the fiber link is called polarity. There are three kinds of polarity of MPO products: (positive polarity) type A, (reverse pair to calibrate positive polarity) type B and (cross polarity) type C.
For type a mpo-mpo jumper, the fiber cores at both ends of the jumper are arranged in the same position, with the positioning key at one end facing up and the positioning key at one end downward.
For type B mpo-mpo jumper, the fiber cores at both ends of the jumper are arranged in opposite positions. The position of fiber core 1 at one end is 12 at the other end, and the orientation of positioning keys at both ends is the same.
For type C mpo-mpo jumper, the positions of two adjacent cores are crossed. The fiber core 1 at one end is at position 2 at the other end, and the fiber core 2 at one end is at the position 1 at the other end. The positioning key at one end is upward and the positioning key at one end is downward.
2. How to test polarity?
Whether 8 or 12 fibers are 24 core fibers, MPO / MTP polarity tester is used to detect the line sequence status of MPO products and single fiber failure in MPO system.
3. What polarity method is used to upgrade the network to 40g?
Generally, 12 core MPO / MTP connector is used for 40g transmission. In the 12 core hole, only 8 cores are used to transmit and receive signals. The four core holes on the left are used to transmit signals, the four core holes on the right are used to receive signals, and the four core holes in the middle are not used. According to the 40gbase-sr4 standard, this polarity method can use multiple 10g channels for 40g transmission.
4. What polarity method is used to upgrade the network to 100g?
The first solution is to use a 24 core MPO connector. The upper middle 10 core holes are used to receive signals and the lower middle 10 core holes are used to transmit signals.
The second solution is to use two 12 core MPO connectors side by side. The 10 core holes of the left MPO / MTP connector are used to transmit signals, and the 10 core holes of the right MPO / MTP connector are used to receive signals.
The third solution is also to use two stacked 12 core MPO connectors. The 10 core holes of the upper MPO connector are used to receive signals, and the 10 core holes of the lower MPO / MTP connector are used to transmit signals.
