At the "GTI 2020 International Industry Summit", GTI released the 5G global Universal Terminal Initiatives to promote the further maturity of 5G multi-frequency multi-mode terminals.
At the meeting, GTI jointly launched the initiative with 27 international operators and manufacturers, including China Mobile, Bharti Airtel, T-Mobile, SoftBank, Vodafone, Korea Telecom, Huawei and Qualcomm.
According to the initiative, 5G GSM terminals will support SA and NSA dual-mode, 700MHz, 2.3GHz, 2.6GHz, 3.5GHz and 4.9GHz multi-band, 5G messaging and other functions.
With the maturity of 5G multi-mode multi-frequency terminals, 5G global roaming and scale development will have a more solid foundation.
According to the timetable, 5G GSM terminal prototype will be released in June 2020, 5G GSM commercial terminal will be released at the end of 2020, and 5G GSM terminal scale development will be realized in 2021.
