High performance pump laser, low noise erbium-doped fiber and unique control and protection circuit are used in EDFA to realize low noise and high stability output. The front panel provides power switch, LCD power display, output power adjustment knob, and RS232 interface. It is widely used in optical fiber sensing and optical fiber communication systems as a preamplifier.
Classification mode of EDFA
1. Power amplifier, located behind the combiner, is used to enhance the power of multiple wavelength signals after combining, and then transmit them. Since the signal power after combining is generally large, the requirements for noise index and gain of a power amplifier are not very high, but it is required to have a relatively large output power after amplification.
2. Line amplifier, after the power amplifier, is used to periodically compensate the transmission loss of the line. Generally, it requires lower noise index and higher output optical power.
3. Pre amplifier is used for signal amplification before the wave splitter and after the line amplifier to improve the sensitivity of the receiver (when OSNR meets the requirements, larger input power can suppress the noise of the receiver itself and improve the receiver sensitivity). The noise index is required to be very small, and the output power is not required too much.

Precautions for maintenance of optical connector
The cleaning of optical connector is an important item in the maintenance of optical amplifier. To achieve safe and effective cleaning, please observe the following rules:
● Clean the fiber end face with absolute alcohol and absorbent cotton or other special wiping cloth
● Dip in anhydrous alcohol and gently touch the end face of the connector to stick off the dust and other impurities on the end face
● Don't use force to wipe back and forth on the end face of optical connector to avoid scratching the end face
● Don't clean when the connector still has light output, so as to avoid damaging the end face
C-band 40ch DWDM EDFA erbium doped optical preamplifier
DWDM EDFA is a low noise, gain flattened C-band erbium-doped optical power amplifier designed to expand dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM).
