Why is optical module compatibility so important?

(Such as switches) are encrypted, so these network devices have high requirements for the compatibility of optical modules. This means that Cisco optical modules cannot be used with HP networking equipment, and vice versa. At present, the price of branded optical modules on the market is usually higher than that of third-party optical modules. However, because third-party optical modules are compatible with branded network equipment and can provide the same performance as branded optical modules, they are widely used in data centers, Enterprise network and campus network.

Since brand network equipment has high compatibility requirements, it is very important for third-party suppliers to ensure that third-party optical modules are compatible with brand network equipment.

What is the difference between third-party optical modules (compatible optical modules) and original optical modules?

There is not much difference between the two. Because all optical modules are manufactured based on multi-source agreement (MSA). The only difference is that the vendor code in the EEPROM is reset to the system owned by the vendor. This means that the connected optical module must have the same EEPROM code as the original supplier's network equipment. All HTF optical modules use the same software code of the original supplier, which can ensure compatibility with the original supplier's network equipment.

In addition, HTF can provide compatibility test certificates of different brands. If you want to view the compatibility certificate,
