In addition, the MPO / MTP transfer module box can also be designed to accommodate multiple MPO / MTP direct fan out optical cable components. For example, the number of ports on one MPO / MTP transfer module box may be more than 144. The MPO / MTP transfer module box realizes the modular safe transfer between MPO / MTP and SC, LC, St connectors. It provides a fast, reliable, high-performance and efficient scheme for the transfer from multi-core optical fiber to SC, LC, st and other optical fiber ports.

TIA / eia568-b.1-7 standard specifies three connection modes a, B and C to ensure the polarity consistency of serial duplex fiber. The standard also defines the type of conversion module box containing MPO / MTP duplex adapter in typical system configuration. Depending on the wiring configuration, the conversion module box can be fitted with a key up key down (type A) or a key up key up (type b) adapter. The only difference between type A and type B is that the access direction of MPO / MTP fan out jumper connector inside the transfer module box is different from that of external MPO / MTP jumper connector. Mode a adopts a straight through wiring mode and a type MPO / MTP adapter (key up and key down mode coupling). Mode B uses a cross wiring mode and a type B adapter (key up and key up mode coupling).
In the market, most MPO / MTP transfer module boxes adopt the default configuration of type A, because it is easier to use this connection mode for wiring, and it is suitable for single-mode and multi-mode transmission, and supports network expansion. In addition, since the configuration of adapter key in mode C is consistent with that in mode a, the MPO / MTP module conversion box of type A is also suitable for wiring connection of mode C. Type B MPO / MTP transfer module box is also in demand in the market, but this kind of module box is limited because it does not support the use of APC single-mode connector.
Advantages and disadvantages of MPO jumper module box and MTP optical fiber module box
The selection of MPO / MTP transfer module box depends on your network connection mode and component requirements. It should be noted that the use of type B components (jumpers, adapters, module boxes, etc.) will cross the fiber alignment, while type a components will not affect the fiber alignment sequence.
MPO / MTP transfer module box has many advantages. It is easy to install. It can greatly reduce labor cost, save space and installation time. It is an ideal solution for high-density applications. In addition, MPO / MTP transfer module box is suitable for applications with small number of optical fibers as well as applications with large number of optical fibers. It is an ideal solution for telecommunication network, WDM application, data center wiring, backbone network wiring and 40 / 100g network.
How to connect MPO interface optical module with LC interface optical module?
Optical modules in the market now usually have MPO and LC interfaces. For two optical modules with the same interface, the connection can be basically realized by using MPO fiber jumper or LC optical fiber jumper. For the connection between optical modules with different interfaces, in addition to using MPO backbone fiber jumper and LC duplex fiber jumper, optical fiber adapter panel and mpo-lc duplex optical fiber distribution box are also needed And other optical fiber cabling products. Here are several connection methods:
1. QSFP + optical module and SFP + optical module direct connection solution
When a QSFP + optical module with 8-core MPO interface and 4 optical modules with duplex LC interface are connected, we need an 8-core mpo-lc duplex branch fiber jumper. However, this direct connection scheme is limited to the short distance connection on the same rack.

2. Interconnection solution of qsfp + optical module and SFP + optical module
Qsfp + optical module and SFP + optical module are respectively connected with MPO trunk optical fiber jumper and LC duplex optical fiber jumper. The fiber adapter panel, MPO backbone fiber jumper and mpo-lc duplex fiber distribution box are used between MPO backbone fiber jumper and LC duplex fiber patch cord. This connection method allows device replacement at both ends of the fiber link.

3. The interconnection mode of qsfp + optical module and SFP + optical module is different from the previous connection scheme, which is the optical fiber access device at the end of the SFP + optical module. In the end, it is connected with the optical fiber module through the fiber adapter panel and LC duplex branch fiber jumper. However, the disadvantage of this method is the lack of flexibility at the end of the SFP + optical module because the ports of the SFP + optical module must be located in the same chassis. That is to say, this connection scheme does not allow the replacement of optical fiber access equipment at the end of the SFP + optical module.

4. Cross connection solution of qsfp + optical module and SFP + optical module
The first cross connection scheme is mainly through MPO trunk optical fiber jumper, mpo-lc duplex optical fiber distribution box and LC duplex optical fiber jumper. The second cross connection scheme is more complex. In addition to the optical fiber equipment required in scheme 1, it also needs to use the optical fiber adapter panel. This cross connect method is more suitable for applications where the distance between distribution ranges is longer, and it is necessary to ensure that the trunk cable of the splice tray is not damaged.

MTP / MPO series is a group of innovative products, it makes optical fiber transmission into a new era. MTP / MPO series are ideal products for disaster recovery, backbone network and optical fiber distribution in buildings. For example, one MTP / MPO connector can realize 12 core transmission on one optical cable. With MTP / MPO series products, users can connect the trunk to each branch with one optical cable containing 12 cores. The use of this multi-core technology greatly saves wiring time, and the installation is fast and accurate. The development of optical communication requires more and more connectors. Modular connector with high reliability and easy to use. MPO pre terminated fiber optic cables are conducive to rapidly deployed data center and fiber infrastructure environments. Across the MDA, HDA and EDA area module box or fan out optical cable connection, its efficient plug and play architecture greatly reduces the initial installation and routine maintenance costs.
