XFP (10 Gigabit Small Form Factor Pluggable) is a hot Pluggable, communication protocol-independent optical transceiver with a working wavelength of 850nm, 1310nm or 1550nm. It is used for SONET/SDH of 10G BPS, fiber channel, Gigabit Ethernet, 10 Gigabit Ethernet and other applications, including DWDM link. The XFP contains a digital diagnostic module similar to THE SDF-8472, but has been extended to provide robust management tools.
