When comparing different solutions of fronthaul network, it is necessary to comprehensively consider the network construction cost and maintenance cost in the life cycle, not just the initial simple optical module cost.


Based on this, the system has the following features: wavelength adaptive, configuration free; Single fiber bidirectional, good symmetry; Low time delay and small jitter; Transparent transmission, no electrical layer processing; DWDM, wavelength wave, large capacity; and based on pilot and message channel to achieve manageable maintenance.


Urban access WDM technology, applied to 5G fronthaul, can reduce the consumption of massive fiber resources and support point-to-point (star), chain and ring networking. It is mainly used in scenarios where the remaining fiber core is insufficient, and it is difficult to build new optical cable or high cost, with obvious cost advantages.


In terms of optical module, the 10G optical module of HTF has been developed and will be in mass production soon. The 25G optical module is expected to be ready for mass production in 2020. At the same time, based on TFF and AWG, 6/12/20 channel single fiber bidirectional combination and splitting device has been developed and verified by the system level test; In addition, an access WDM system for 5G fronthaul and CPE is being developed for trial commercial use of 5G on-grid.


The industrial chain needs to take into consideration such standard work as the architecture, standard interface and equipment type of the next generation optical network for comprehensive bearing, and guide and promote the standard work of the next generation optical network as a whole. In addition, DWDM sinking has become a general trend in the industry. We hope that the industry can speed up the relevant standardization, reduce the types of optical modules as much as possible, reduce the complexity of network maintenance, gather applications and reduce costs. At the same time, the industry should focus more on DATACOM application scenarios such as optical interconnection of data centers, share and share the industry chain as much as possible, and introduce more equipment forms (modular wave separation, etc.) to reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO) of the network.
