As of December 30th, Henan Province will build 34,700 5G base stations in 2020. The total number of 5G base stations will reach 45,400, and the number of 5G users will reach 17.465 million, achieving full coverage of 5G networks in urban areas above the county seat.
In 2020, the information and communication industry of Henan Province will earnestly implement the strategic cooperation framework agreement between the Henan Provincial People’s Government and the country’s four major telecommunications central enterprises. With the construction of new infrastructure such as 5G and big data centers as the traction, Henan Province will strive to make Henan the most important information nationwide one of the communication hubs and information distribution centers, the Zhengzhou direct connection point has become the top key node of the national Internet interconnection architecture. The dedicated Internet data channels in Zhengzhou, Kaifeng and Luoyang have greatly improved the quality of Henan's Internet access. With regard to the construction of the 5G network hub, the center of China Mobile Network Cloud Zhengzhou regional and the Center of China Unicom's 5G core network Central Region have been initially completed this year, carrying and serving 5G network services in many central provinces. The construction of key projects such as China Unicom's Central Plains Data Base and China Mobile (Henan) Data Center has continued to accelerate to build a first-class national big data industry center. Relying on the China Mobile 5G Joint Innovation Center (Henan) Open Laboratory, China Unicom Henan 5G Key Laboratory, China Tower Henan 5G Technology Innovation Center and other research and development institutions, 5G key scene applications continue to deepen. Efforts to build 5G+ industrial Internet, smart medical care, smart transportation, smart mines, ubiquitous low-altitude, smart parks, smart cities, smart tourism and other application scenarios demonstration benchmarks, actively build a new industry ecology, and 5G industry applications achieve new development.
