With the rapid development of network communication technology, the requirements of urban informatization construction are getting higher and higher. Optical fiber is chosen by more and more users with its advantages of low loss rate, high transmission rate, insensitive bending, long transmission distance and strong anti-interference. As the connecting device between fiber jumper and switch, optical module plays an important role, and the most common optical module is duplex optical module. So, what is a duplex module? And how does the duplex module fit with the fiber jumper?
What is a duplex optical module
Optical fiber jumper can be divided into simplex and duplex according to the working mode of interface. In general, the optical module matched with simplex optical fiber jumper is commonly known as simplex optical module. The optical module with duplex fiber jumper is commonly known as duplex optical module.
What are full duplex and half duplex modules
Duplex optical module can be divided into full duplex optical module and half duplex optical module. Full duplex optical module is generally called ordinary optical module, which refers to the two-way transmission at the same time when transmitted by two different transmission lines. In other words, data can be received at the same time when data is sent. The half-duplex optical module, also known as BIDI optical module, refers to the data transmission that is transmitted and received by a transmission line, but only in one direction within a time, that is, the data is received after the completion of data transmission.
Wiring solution of duplex optical module
Data center wiring is the nervous system of network transmission, ensuring the normal transmission of data through the collocation of optical modules, optical fiber copper cables, switches, cabinets, line management and other products. Due to the difference of port type and distance between devices, different products need to be matched flexibly.
In the network scene of 40G and 10G interconnection, through mtp-4 *LC duplex branch jumper, one end is connected to 40G optical module, and the other end is connected to 4*10G duplex optical module to achieve the effect of normal network operation.
In the network scene of the interconnection of gigabit light modules, the normal operation of the network is realized by connecting the gigabit LC duplex single-mode optical fiber jumper with two ends.
